 Basics of interior design

Interior design is a wide and varied world and varies according to the space to be designed and the growthfollowed in the design and follows the culture of the place in terms of different colors and shapes

These are some of the basics of interior design
1. The design should not be aesthetically pleasing only, nor should it add anything to the functional aspect of the building, as the design is originally intended for the purpose of exploiting the building in the best way.
2- Utilizing the materials available in the place so that the building conforms to the nature of the environment in it and is integrated into the surrounding environment and is not unfamiliar to what is around it.
3. Show a state of luxury through simple things that have an effect on the atmosphere inside the house and on the state of calm, which bring comfort and pleasure, such as candles, flowers and other accessories.
4. The acquisition of furnishings and furniture that can be adapted to different places in the house, that is, to have a degree of dynamism of changing and switching inside the house to overcome the manifestations of routine and monotony from time to time.
5. Adopting a home decor that fits personal taste, because the psychological factor has an important role in the selection process that must reflect one's inner desires, and as the designers in the world of decoration say, your home decor must resemble you, no matter how hard or calm and pale the decor is. Or a conqueror that must simulate the depths of the psyche.
6) Harmony and harmony between the possessions of the house is an important equation to find a balance between its components, because everything placed in the house is defined by its surroundings, which must be compatible with it, so it is necessary to find a balance between the assets to achieve the desire, and to avoid the tyranny of one element over another and secure what we call Harmony between vocabulary.
7. Choosing a unified décor for each part of the house that meets the equation of compatibility between the decor components in this part in terms of colors, form, quality, and time.
8- Solve all the problems of arranging and distributing furniture inside the house according to the needs that ultimately meet the ambition of the homeowners to secure comfort, bearing in mind the shape and style, and in all cases, a good design is what creates the compatibility between these two contradictory elements.
9. Nothing is equal to colors, as it is the only way to revive the place and revive activity in it, as each color has its own personality and ability to create special psychological and emotional reactions, so it is necessary to use rich and profoundly influencing colors.
10. The contradiction must be achieved on the same rhythm through the marriage between quality and time, through the compatibility of furniture of different styles, such as choosing chairs for the dining room from the same group with a table of a different style to ultimately create harmony and harmony.
Basics in decoration
Decoration is a science that has rules and principles on which it is based, and there are some basics that must be known to reach the best home decor
Colors and how to deal with them to find consistent colors:
Attention to color is a healthy phenomenon, and a person who loves and follows the coordination of colors in his home, office, and practical or life surroundings in general, is a person without a doubt that carries a lot of attention, culture and organization.
And the concern for color is a natural reflection of a high culture that is reflected in the concern for the taste that expresses the nature and psyche of the human being.
Many people deal with colors, but some deal with it with a psychological impression without practicing reading or knowing what colors are and their psychological connotations. Some of them do not realize what are the primary or secondary colors, or complementary or dissonant colors and what they are, and so on.
There are two main lines in searching for a shade or more capable of fully harmonizing with our tastes:
Contrasting colors:
This choice requires boldness and courage of color, including:
1- Complementary colors: Choose two opposite colors in the color circle, such as green and red, and other colors can be added to these two colors by mixing them in different proportions.
2- Dividing complementary colors: Here we choose a basic color for the project, then the two adjacent colors for the complementary color, for example we choose the red color as the main color and the adjacent colors for the complementary color (green)
3- Triple harmony: a very bold style that requires more color courage than before, which is to draw an equilateral triangle inside the circle to indicate its corners on the project colors such as (green, orange and purple).
Hierarchical colors (gradient):
As for this path, it does not require boldness or courage of color, as it can be dealt with in all parts of the home, and is appropriate for all age groups and moods, including:
1- Contiguous colors: Here we start by choosing one color as the basis for the project, then the two adjacent colors, such as bluish green and bluish violet, if our primary choice is blue, and this method gives the space a single color spectrum
2- Monochrome: The project is based on one color and gradients with colors derived and close to it, by its interaction when mixing neutral colors (white, gray, black) with it.
Important Notes :
A - You can deal with the options of the first section (contrasting colors) when we do not have the courage to deal with the original colors in the circle by increasing the clarity of the project colors, by adding the white color to it until it reaches your level of color courage.
B - It is desirable that one of the project colors dominates the void areas, especially the most vivid colors.
A - When you feel that the colors are inactive in the path of hierarchical colors, you can add a complementary color to them inside the space, but in a small percentage, to activate the colors of the space.
Unity and proportionality:
To make a successful interior design, certain concepts must be employed, including:
Unit:
According to the definition of "unity" in design, it means that all parts in the room (design, furniture, color scheme, embossing in textures and wall covering) are coordinated to create a harmonious effect that is aesthetically pleasing, works effectively and coordinates comfortably with the rest of the house, the various objects in the room It should look like a home together.
To obtain "unity" does not mean that all the colors and engravings on them are identical or closely matched, or that all pieces of furniture have to be of the same time or model, but it means that the general space carries a sense of continuity.
For example: rooms that need to be visually connected to each other need "unity", some common points that gently carry the eye from one area to another, walls may be painted in the same color and floors can be joined with the same type of material, and Windows can be covered with the same treatment.
Scale and proportion:
In the world of design, scale and proportion are closely related.
Scale is generally an indication of the size of objects, especially if they relate to each other, people, or the space they occupy.
As for proportionality, it is an expression of a comparative relationship between a part or parts with the whole
Balance

1- symmetrical balance:

It is very easy to do but does not inspire imagination and innovation. And it is the balance that makes the space divided into two equal and completely identical parts, as if there is an imaginary line passing through it to give this impression. This type of design is considered a double-edged sword because it either gives an attractive and comfortable result or a result that is a comfortable place for a very simple period of time, and the user of this place will soon feel bored, as there is no routine to arrange furniture, paintings or other units used .
2- asymmetric balance:
It is called active balance and one of its advantages is that it allows the use of pieces of different sizes and weights in one room, and it also suggests breadth, and it is an attractive balance because it works to create a balance in the place without monotony or boredom. The visual weight of the piece depends on many factors: it is the color, the texture, the size, and the material it is made of.
The balance is often in the color ... When a strong warm color (red, orange, yellow) is used in a small amount it is balanced with the use of a cold color (blue, green, purple) in a large amount.
The quality and texture of the piece affects how it is placed in the place, as the pieces with a smooth surface have a lower visual weight than the pieces with a rough surface, and the type of material used is considered one of the main factors, as transparent materials such as glass have very little visual weight when compared to wood, for example, and materials such as silk and satin weigh The visual is lower than wool and linen and a large satin-wood chair is visually balanced against a smooth glass table.

3- Radiant balance:

The least used, this type depends on arranging the pieces around one point, and it is possible that this point is just an imaginary center, and this is what we see often in the wide entrances and the placing of chairs around the round dining table.
The balance in the design makes the place more attractive, even if we go back in our memory and try to recall the number of times we entered homes or public places in which we did not feel comfortable, and we did not find an answer or explanation for that feeling, then most likely the reason is the lack of balance in the place and how many people arrange the pieces In his home automatically without resorting to design planning before, this indicates that the tendency to search for types of balance is part of human nature because feeling comfortable requires a sense of visual balance.
Color package
Most of us have already been acquainted with the color package during the study stages and have become familiar with its colors such as yellow, green, red, etc.
But usually those pure colors do not suit us in our homes, but rather we prefer what we see in magazines and markets of gradient colors and mixed with some more elegant, so some believe that the color circle is useless when applying and it is just a study.

Color theory:

But in fact, this belief is wrong because the color package is one of the most important and influential means in the world of decoration if it knows how to use it, the reality is that the colors in it are linked in a natural and studied way at the same time and are linked to some greatly, and with some knowledge and patience you can use colors In an elegant way and a wonderful mix between them and applied in places that were not satisfied with it before, the previous image changed completely.
It is important to simplify the color package to understand it well, there are 12 main colors in the color package, and each color can be seen in light, medium and dark images, meaning that the total of the colors in their shades is 36 colors, but at the first look, the 12 colors appear in their pure state only, and to identify On these colors, their types, and how they were formed and grouped, it is necessary to identify their divisions:
1- Primary colors: which are red, yellow, and blue are the basis and from which all other colors are formed by mixing them or some of them in different proportions.
2- Secondary colors: and they are orange, green and purple
Its position is the distance between the primary colors on the color wheel, and it consists of mixing the primary colors
Yellow + red = orange
Blue + yellow = green
Red + blue = purple (purple)
3- Intermediate colors: It is the result of a mixture between a primary and secondary color in the color wheel.
Red (primary) + purple (secondary) = reddish violet
There are 6 intermediate colors in the color wheel and they are:
Greenish yellow , teal, bluish- violet, reddish-violet, reddish- orange, yellowish-orange
You may be surprised and ask yourself where is a color like brown from?
Brown often consists of darker tones and a high intensity of warm colors such as reddish orange and yellowish orange.
Primary, secondary , and intermediate colors are in their pure and clear form and are the source of all the colors and their mixtures that we see daily (most colors we find also consist of one or more neutral colors black, white and gray that are not present in the color wheel).
For example, we find that pure orange is the source of some of the colors that are around us, such as peach, pumpkin, and turmeric, and in this way, which is to link the colors that you want to use with the colors in the wheel, you have taken the first step in using the color wheel in developing your own color palette. .
(((Design Definition and Basics)))
Design is the process of formation and innovation, that is, gathering elements from the environment and putting them in a specific configuration to give something that has a function or meaning.

Definition of interior design:

- It is preparing the place to perform jobs with minimal effort, and this includes floors, walls, ceilings and equipment, as it is known as (the art of treating the space or space and all its dimensions in a way that takes advantage of all design elements in an aesthetic way that helps to work inside the building).
- It is a planning and innovation based on specific architectural data, bringing this planning into existence and then implementing it in all places and spaces, regardless of the purposes of their use and their character, using different materials and appropriate colors at the appropriate cost.
It is to address the development of appropriate solutions to all the specific difficulties in the field of movement in a vacuum, the ease of use of the furniture and equipment that it contains, and to make this space comfortable, quiet and distinguished by all the conditions, aesthetic standards, methods of pleasure and joy.
- It is the broad awareness and unlimited awareness of all architectural matters and their details, especially the interior, of the materials, what they are and how to use them, and it is the pure knowledge of furniture, the measurement and distribution of it in the internal space according to its purposes, the colors, how to use it and its selection in the place, as well as other necessary coordination matters such as lighting, its distribution, flowers and their coordination and with ** multiple walls Other needed to vacuum according to his job.
Color system:
Although there is no specific combination of using colors together in a specific way, over the years some basic color systems have evolved.
Basic color systems:
1- Monochrome system (single color)
This type is the simplest type of color system to understand and it depends on different shades of the same color. Unless attention is paid to texture and patterns, generally a monochrome system can be needed to make it more vibrant by adding bright shades of a color that belongs to another part of the color wheel.
Conjunctive system (analog / opposite)
The coherent color system uses colors that are close to each other or adjacent to each other in the color wheel:
Red - the color of flames - and orange
Blue - greenish-blue - and green
Lime (greenish yellow) - yellow - mandarin (yellowish orange)
And it is a clever system and a lot of detail.
3- The contrasting or contradictory system
Contrasting color schemes mix opposite colors on the color wheel:
Red + green or blue
Yellow + blue or purple (purple)
And these color systems have a great effect, and attention must be paid to maintain balance, noting that equal areas of contrasting colors contradict each other instead of enhancing the effect of each other. (White is the master of colors in the house).
White color, this color that symbolizes purity, purity, chastity, cleanliness and clarity, and it is the dominant color or prevalent in everything related to human life, as most homes are dominated by white, men's clothes and some women's clothes predominantly white, as well as children's clothes. Cars of all kinds, preferences of which are white, and many home furnishings are predominantly white, along with kitchen and bedroom appliances.
White is the most comfortable color for the soul, and the evidence for that is its adoption as a basic color with regard to patients, such as hospital wall colors, doctors 'and nurses' clothes, bed linen, patient clothes, room curtains and medical devices.
And the white color inside the house will be the predominant - whether we like it or not - because it is the common factor between the colors in the furniture, clothes and utensils used in the cooking and the dining room.
Hence, the white color is used in the whole house, but how can the white color be employed in some locations, and what colors can be taken into account when choosing it and are in harmony with nature with white.
In the reception room of the guests and the majlis in general, it is preferable for the walls to be white, with "light green" interfering with them. As for the furniture, the majlis or sofa is chosen from the wooded white color or inlaid with some faded light colors (red - blue - green ...).
As for the curtain walls, they are chosen from the same type of fabric as sofa or majlis, but with afforestation or a slightly different design, or from white inlaid with gold or black (finely grafted).
